More Efficiency and Flexibility with MAB
The main focus of this resource is to help primary/elementary students in their understanding of place value. It can also be used to help 'at risk' students
who struggle with Math/s in high school. Over 70% of the content in Primary/Elementary Maths syllabi requires students to be confident in all aspects of
place value. This book makes working with MAB more efficient and flexible.
The MAB Student Resource Book contains 20 pages of MAB illustrations. The small rectangular shape in the top right hand corner of each frame is for
students to write the number represented by MAB. The last page is a numerical summary of all the pages. This page will make it easier for teachers and
home schoolers to devise exercises and activities for their students.
Over Seventy Primary/Elementary Maths Concepts
Below is a downloadable .pdf of several pages listing over seventy maths concepts that can be taught using this resource. Explanations and examples are
given to show how this book can be used in teaching, illustrating and consolidating those concepts. The examples are only starting points to give direction
to teachers and home schoolers. Single pages can be downloaded and photocopied, or the whole book can be reproduced and distributed, but don't
give the students a copy of the Numerical Summary. The book is intended as a consumable so that students will be able to draw, colour and write on the
pages as the need arises.
